About the job

This role will offer you the chance to utilize your engineering skills to its full extent and contribute to the strategic and detailed development of our solutions.

Our client aims at becoming the market leading provider of wind propulsion solution to the shipping industry and thereby prevent contribution to climate change and other harmful emissions from shipping. The first installations are scheduled to be in operation on an ocean-going car carrier in 2025.

Our client is established as a 50/50 joint venture, owned by Alfa Laval and Wallenius but operated as an independent company. We are now building up the team, with highly skilled, motivated, and passionate people, that will form the core of this company.

 

Key responsibilities:

Responsible for developing the real time automation and machine-control architecture regarding strategy, safety philosophy and logics. Lead the automation development and verification activities and resources. Contribute to building and working together with a strong and agile product development team, including a wide range of engineering disciplines. Technical interface towards programmers and other external and internal stakeholders. Support regulatory submissions including creation and management of technical documentation for automation system.

 

You are:

  • You have masters’s degree in automation, mechatronics, software design or similar You have experience from automation system architecture development.
  • You have experience from requirement specification and development of automation systems from ideas to finished products Knowledge in Software Development Models & Methods (OOP, S88, PackML)
  • Experience in Agile Methods and Tools is a plus (SCRUM, DevOps)
  • Five or more years of work experience in Software Engineering & Standardizations (PLC, embedded or other real time systems)
  • 5-10 years experience within industrial automation in automotive, marine, or similar areas.
  • Strong team player, you thrive working together with other people and competences in reaching a common goal.
  • Curious and creative mindset Good understanding of cross-functional design processes. Perseverant with an analytical and goal-oriented mindset. Organized and structured with attention to details Communicative both orally and in writing

 

The position is based in Tumba, Stockholm.
